MG unveils new car

MG on Friday unveiled the Binguo EV at the Pakistan Auto Show 2025, marking one of the country’s most significant electric vehicle launches yet as the company targets the budget-friendly segment with a model offering a 333-kilometer range and modern tech features.

Although marketed under the MG badge, the Binguo EV is essentially the Wuling Binguo — an electric subcompact hatchback produced by SAIC-GM-Wuling, the Chinese automotive group that owns MG. The five-door city car is powered by a 50 kW electric motor paired with a 31.9 kWh LFP battery, which delivers its claimed range under CLTC testing.

The company says the EV can be charged from 30% to 80% in about 30 minutes using DC fast charging, while a standard AC charger requires roughly five and a half hours for a full top-up. With a top speed of around 120 km/h, the Binguo is positioned as a daily commuter with efficient energy consumption.

Inside, the hatchback sports a contemporary cabin featuring dual 10.25-inch displays, keyless entry, ample storage spaces and foldable rear seats that expand cargo room. Safety features include dual airbags, ABS, electronic stability control, a rear camera and ISOFIX child-seat mounts. Higher-spec variants offer more powerful motors and longer range options, including the newer extended-range “Binguo S.”

MG also showcased its U9 pickup truck at the event, signaling the brand’s entry into Pakistan’s growing pickup segment alongside its push into affordable EVs.
