Honda Atlas Cars Pakistan has achieved a historic milestone by exporting its first-ever batch of completely built-up (CBU) units, with 40 Honda City 1.2L vehicles dispatched to Japan. The landmark export underscores Pakistan’s growing role in the global automotive industry and aligns with the government’s vision of boosting industrial and export-led growth.

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) for Industries and Production Haroon Akhtar Khan attended the ceremony at Honda Atlas Cars Pakistan Ltd. (HACPL) in Lahore as the chief guest, praising the company’s achievement as a major step forward for local manufacturing and exports.

“This milestone signifies Pakistan’s potential to become a competitive player in the global automotive market,” Khan said. “The government remains committed to supporting the automotive sector through favorable policy reforms and infrastructure development.”

The ceremony was attended by key government and industry figures, including Secretary of the Ministry of Industries and Production Saif Anjum and CEO of the Engineering Development Board Khuda Baksh Ali. Honda executives, including HACPL Chairman Aamir H. Shirazi and President & CEO Takafumi Koike, highlighted the company’s dedication to quality, innovation, and sustainability.

The event featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony marking HACPL’s entry into the global export market, followed by a tree plantation activity reflecting the company’s environmental commitments.

Khan urged other local manufacturers to explore global markets, emphasizing Pakistan’s potential to become a regional hub for automotive production and exports. He reiterated Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s vision of fostering an export-driven and sustainable industrial ecosystem.
